I registered on LSD before you (early Jan), and i've seen many stupid threads that reduce hiphop and black culture into the form of a cartoon. But I usually just shake my head and hit the X button on top. But these stupid ideals started to propagate. So I just wanted to address it. It may not change anything but I just wanted to address it. These issues have to do with casino and ruskie.

Cho is A-OK in my book.  I haven't read as much of the other two to comment on them, but I don't see what the big deal with Cho is.  Is he a racist?  I dunno, 'cos I haven't been around here as long as you have.  But from what I've read of his comments, posts, etc., he usually seems more self-effacing than anything else, in my opinion.  Again, I haven't been around as long as you have, so maybe I'm wrong.  But in my comparatively short time here, I have yet to read something he's written that's overtly racist; he mostly seems like a pretty decent, down-to-earth kind of a guy who respects others.

She seems cool. But it seems like she dumb down her posts. Maybe she was just stressed out and was just trying have fun and joke around . .. but she needs to relax.

If you never grew up in the projects what makes you think you can talk about it like you lived the life? I just feel some people feel like some of my life experiences is just a garment you can wear anytime. Thats not the case.

I respect your right to voice your opinion, but do not appreciate your comments.  You make an unwarranted personal attack at people you know nothing about.  Whether any of us are as well versed in hip hop culture as you are is debatable.  You don't have to be black to know hip hop when every white kid in America between the ages of 15 and 25 has a Ludacris CD.  I cannot speak for anyone else, because I do not follow all their posts, but I can insist that none of my comments were offensive.  Having a circle of friends made up predominantly of minorities (mostly Blacks) you learn to be sensitive to racial comments.  When there were nooses hanging in trees at UT (allegedly as a part of an art project depicting the strangulation of trees) I was one of the first to petitiion the administration to become proactive about racial/cultural/ethnic awareness at the university.  Yes, I listen to hip hop.  Yes I wear BabyPhat.  Yes, I even date black man.  Is that indicative of an identity crisis? Absolutely not.  White admiration for hip hop culture is a step toward eradicating social segregation.  It brings us a step closer to understanding.  If you have a problem with that, I think you're the one with "issues."
