MLS is awful football. I only support Glasgow Rangers.

Hey hey...
none of that now.
MLS is improving, and allows for attending games.

I always get them confused, are the Rangers the protestant one or the Catholic one?
DC beat Celtic 4-0 last year.

They're just Rangers F.C., not "the Rangers," FYI.

And they are the greatest football club in the history of the sport, holding more titles than ANY team, in any sport. The Yankees claim to have that honor, but Rangers FC's 50 beats the Yankees by almost double.

And, technically, yes, they are "the Protestant one." Although there is a lot more to it than that. Celtic fans ally themselves with the IRA Catholic Irish movement, while Rangers fans tend to be protestant and Unionist. Then again, Sean Connery, a Nationalist Catholic supports Rangers F.C., so none of that necessarily matters.

Also, a tired, beat-up and Jet-lagged, Rangers beat LA Galaxy last month in an exhibition game, FWIW.

I'm not really sure that the MLS is getting that much better. If you enjoy it, more power to you, but I'll continue to watch my Rangers.

CL,

LA sucks, FWIW.  they pay lando so much so the rest of their team fends for scraps.  And whatever, Rangers are in a league with 2 clubs.... and others that shal not be named.  You can't compare them to the yanks, with 30 teams, 10+ that are decent.

and yes, it's on the up... you'll see.  I mean, I am not deluded to think that MLS will rival EPL in my lifetime, but I think there's a chance for it to get better.

TINTCR. You don't know much about the SPL, I assume. While it may seem like a two-horse race on the face of it, it was always a lot more than that. Various teams have stepped up over the years to challenge the "big two," Aberdeen, Hibs and Hearts are often challenging for a top spot in the league table, and Rangers' 9-in-a-row in the 90s was no small feat.

Keep in mind, also that the SPL is a 12 team league, so 10 teams out of 30 is similar to 4 teams out of 12, proportionally.

Right now the MLS is  not good, whether it is getting better or not. It is watered down and Americanized, they play a short season during a time of year that the sport isn't traditionally played. The teams and players are controlled by a central organization, which takes a lot of the fun out of it, IMHO.

yes I'm aware that MLS is not premiere soccer, but it's making strides.

and SPL is the red headed step child of UEFA.

and in the past year, american talent has been more likely to stay here, and south american talent is more likely to come here.

I'm rooting for a world class league (which I know MLS is not at this time)

EPL, namely ManU, is where it's at. But if I end up in a US city with a MLS club, I'd be at a soccer match quicker than any other sport. Even if they suck at the same time the local football, basketball and baseball teams are taking their respective championships.

woot.
Columbus could use the attendance.
