Got waitlisted for FT Southwestern can I try for PT now?

Southwestern is my top choice and I just got put on the waitlist   Is it possible to somehow write a letter asking for a spot for PT while staying on the waitlist for FT?  I really want to attend there so I don't even care if I have to do PT for a year and maybe give up the FT waitlist spot.  What can I do?

I would call and ask for a division change.  Usually there are more available spots in PT than FT...  I doubt, though, that they'll let you change divisions AND remain on the ft waitlist, though.  It's probably one or the other.

Have you gotten the waitlist letter yet?  I was told like a month ago that I was going to be waitlisted, but my online status just changed to say that the letter was sent out (waitlisted).  Is there a place on the letter to be considered for pt instead?  Many of my other waitlists letters had this.

Double check to see if, when they evaluate you for fulltime, whether they also evaulate you for part-time.  Some schools do and some schools don't.  If they don't, tell them how much you want to attend (let them know if it's your first choice), and tell them you're more than happy to take a part-time spot if that's all that's available.  Good luck!  I withdrew 2 months ago (from PT), but I doubt that helps. . .who knows, though.

I was wait listed at Southwestern as well. I decided to write a brief memo to their admissions office explaining how much I enjoyed visiting their campus, and how I look forward being a part of the Southwestern community. I was accepted within a week. You may want to try the same. Good luck!

Today is the 2nd deposit deadline at Southwestern, right?  Is it reasonable to think that there should be some fairly significant wait list movement next week?
