oh i forgot to add one more important factor....i'll be alone in USD, meaning i will have no friends or family.  @ Fordham, i will have family members who are also linked to the medical field.

I can relate with you there.  All my friends and family are in NY/FL.  I'm moving to SD alone, but it doesn't seem as though making friends out there is going to be much of an issue at all...

I don't know how important living near your family is to you.  That's something you need to decide.  The friends part, I would not worry about though (assuming you're not an introverted jackass  .
