Anyone else here a fan and/or practitioner? Or am I the only barbaric freak going for law school?

Me.

I punch and I try to not get taken to the ground, that's pretty much the extent of my MMA style.

Hehe, well if you succeed at that I'd say you're doing pretty well :) I'm mostly doing it the other way around, getting away from the punches and trying to take down.

If I ever wanted to get competitive again I'd need to lose A LOT of weight. Right now I'm 6'3" 170 lbs (~1.9m 77kg,) back in my glory days of amateur boxing I was around 6'2" 147 lbs (~67kg.) Everyone I fought was like 6 inches shorter than me.

Just box. I think I'm way too awkward for kickboxing. I'm way too awkward for just about anything besides upper body throwing, hence my MMA style of throwing punches and trying not to go down.

I studied Tae Kwon Do when I was younger. Currently, I study Muay Thai and have been to a few BJJ workshops.

I think MMA is pretty cool - I appreciate its realism.

After watching a few MMA fights, it's hard to watch fights in movies, though.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of boxing.  If you're gonna fight, then fight.

None of this padded stuff.
