URM in the Absence of Hardship

Simple question:

If someone's ancestry is one of URM status (say at least 1/2 Black, Chicano, Hispanic, etc.), but they feel they have faced no real racial hardships because of it, and therefore do not highlight it in neither a personal statement or diversity statement, would the simple identification as such on law school applications garner them special treatment in the application process?

I am half hispanic and have no financial hardships (I don't qualify for any need-based aid) and I believe it still helped me a good amount. I got into schools in which I was well below the 25% on both GPA and LSAT.

It does indeed seem to be about being under-represented, not compensating for hardship yes.

law schools don't care about hardship...just quotas and that's coming from a URM.  Adcomms have no souls.  ;D

No seriously, I have a rather large surgery to go through, and after thinking realistically over things I realize that it would damage my studies or career too much to do it after starting law school, so I figured it was better to just postpone it all till I was good and ready to go 100% for it.
