Here is the print screen of an example.  I didnt bold a word here though.  I'm not sure how these pictures will turn out on your monitor though...but it's better than nothing.  Make sure that your browser DOES NOT re-size these pictures.  Firefox and IE tend to re-size the picture to fit the page.  You can fix this by just zooming to 100%.

The fonts actually look pretty clear.  The advertisement on the right is a bit pixelated though.

My vision isnt too horrible -- I do need glasses to look at a blackboard from far away -- and to watch a movie in a theater, but I find that I don't have too much difficulty reading text at 100% on my screen.

donvito, I tried your links, but unfortuantely both links open a page that says: "Un-Authorized Referer". Thank you for your effort...I am sure it would have been helpful. (I wonder if the text size difference (WXGA+/WXGA) is a little like the difference in text size here between the quoted text and the response text).

It sounds like you are fairly happy with the text you are viewing in Word, and with some modification, web pages. If I could ask you...if you had it to do over again though, would you still go with the WXGA+ screen or would you choose the WXGA?

Just ordered my Lenovo t61 14.1'. Decided on the following specs:

2 Ghz, 4mb cache
2 gigs ram
100 gigs 7200 rmp

Cant wait till i get it! The estimated ship date is 07.27, so we'll see.

I ordered a 14.1" T61 on 7/3 and the ship date says 8/24. Hopefully it comes soon.er

Maybe I just got lucky... I went with the T61 15.4 widescreen (WXGA+) 9 cell battery, 160gig 5400hd, 2.0ghz 4mb cache chip, 1gig ram (in 1 dimm so I can throw another 2 gig in from newegg) and all the other bells and whistles, and my ship date says 7/20.  I ordered mine on July 3rd also!

Ship date isn't for forever (08/28), which works for me because Chicago doesn't start until late September.

For those who have received their laptops, when did you order them?

Ordered 6/28, received today.  It originally said the ship date was August 21, but they're having issues with the ship date  on the website.

oh awesome, I ordered on 6/30, ship date says 8/2, so maybe it will arrive shortly...

Hey also, does anyone know the brand of ram that comes in the t61s?  I got 1gb and want to buy another gb, was hoping to get from the same manufacturer.  I searched online, but was unable to find the manufacturer.  Thanks.
