There is hope people!!  I just received two (2) identical emails:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for choosing Lenovo!

All or part of your order has shipped. In some instances your order may be shipped from more than one location, which will result in multiple notifications. You will only be invoiced for products that have shipped.

BLAH BLAH BLAH...I wonder if its really true or if its another "glitch" in their system.  My credit card has not yet been charged yet.

I ALSO JUST CHECKED THE ORDER STATUS ON THE LENOVO SITE AND IT STILL HAS 8/31 FOR SHIP DATE

When and what did you order?

I sent Lenovo a letter laying out my situation and explaining my frustration.  This is what I got back:

Quote
       Dear [pastor of muppets],

Thank you for contacting Lenovo, the makers of ThinkPad
       and ThinkCentre PC products.

We are in receipt of your e-mail regarding the shipment
       date of your ThinkPad T61.

For further assistance, you may contact our Lenovo
Customer Service at 1-866-428-4465.  The hours of
operation are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00
p.m. EST.  A representative will be able to assist you.

Thank you for visiting our site and contacting Lenovo.

Screw 'em.  If they are this unhelpful when I'm trying to buy something from them, I can't imagine they will be of much use when I need repairs or technical help.

Okay seriously.  I haven't even gotten a confirmation on my email.  I really hate to cancel the order, but I'll feel like a doormat if I don't.

From what I have read... it is affecting everything slightly but only really affecting the T series.  But I can’t really speak to this… I ordered a x61s on 6/7/07 with an estimated ship date of 6/26/07.  I spoke yesterday with a CS rep who said my laptop is still estimated to ship out that day.  But we’ll see.

I ordered an x61 tablet yesterday, and the estimated ship date is currently July 16th. So about a month.

According to the CSR I talked to this morning, the problems are with the T series, not the X series. So why the additional 2 wk delay for my X60s? I ask. Apparently there was no reason for the delay (from 6/13 to 6/27) given in the system. She said she would try to find out something from the supply supervisor or something and then send me an email.  Yeah right - not holding my breath.

This seems to be the beginning of an unhappy relationship with Lenovo.

On Wed (6/13) I recieved a second order confirmation email, identical to the first one I recieved when I placed my order on 5/24.  I followed the order status link and my estimated ship date had been moved to 6/29 (had been 8/28).  At this point, I don't know whether to trust them or not?
