Requesting Advice Regarding Career Path
« on: May 18, 2007, 04:57:37 AM »
I am currently a HS Junior with a 2.9 GPA. I have applied to a CC and have been accepted into the honors program via examination. This program allows students to complete 60 units, 24 of which are honors courses, in one year. This program is well known for its guaranteed placement of all transfer students into UCLA. When I complete this program next year I will be 17 years old and be transfering to UCLA as a Junior. I will continue to study my major, Philosophy, at UCLA until I graduate at 19 years old.

My Goals:

Acheieve a 4.0 GPA w/ Honors
Acheieve a 180 LSAT Score
Create a NPO which creates an atmosphere of peace and compassion between Palestinian and Israeli children

My Questions:

1) Is anyone familiar with this (or any similar) plan of action? If so, elaborate.

2) Is their any disadvantage presented in this plan of action? If so, elaborate.

3) Is their any advantage presented in this plan of action? If so, elaborate.

4) Is it advisable to take a year off of schooling after I recieve my BA in order to establish an organization geared toward the advancement of human rights? If so, elaborate.
