UNC or IUB- HELP!

UNC or IUB- HELP!
« on: May 16, 2007, 06:56:02 AM »
I was accepted to UNC with a 5k scholarship per year plus I qualify for instate tuition. I just got accepted to Indiana University-Bloomington with a full out of state tuition scholarship. If I don't get into Vandy :'( :'(, these will be the two schools I will consider attending, which is a better choice? thanks for the help.

Go to IUB.  I need as many slots open at UNC as possible.

Despite the shoddy manner with which they handled apps during the cycle, I would still say UNC over IU-B. IU-B's got the prettier campus though but UNC's got better rep.

full scholarship.

The difference over three years would be-- 75k? That's quite a bit.

No, not even close...in-state tuition minus 5k a year @ UNC would be only about 20k over three years (in-state @ UNC I think is 12k).

I think in-state is just under 14 K for the upcoming semester.  Still, UNC at 9 K plus living expense is a great bargain.  In all seriousness, OP, I think it would be a no-brainer to go to UNC.  That said, I would greatly appreciate it if you attended IUB or deferred  :D
