Columbia Wait Listers Share Your Pain

I sent an LOCI just last week.  I mentioned a performance-based raise that I recently received here at work and a new service-oriented position I've been selected for in my Mormon congregation.  It's not much, but it's all I have.  I'll probably stay on through the month of June, but I don't want to torture myself into July.

Cool.  There was a lot of GW representation at the beginning of the cycle, but not so much lately.  Happy to see another Colonial

There was some data collected for, I believe, the 1996 application cycle.  It showed that Columbia had a waitlist of 600 people.  It ended up taking 30 people from that waitlist.  Even though that data is from a long time ago, it's definitely not comforting.  I'm having trouble writing a LOCI since the probability of an acceptance seems so small. Regardless, I'll stay on the Columbia waitlist as long as possible.  I'm not too sad about it, I have a 30k a year offer from GWU.  I'm sure the rest of you have similar offers that rock just as much, if not more.

Keep in mind that this info exists on a website that solicits a law admission help service.

I never read into the data much. It just means that there aren't many schools that pull from Columbia.  I kinda figured that already.



...maybe it's a good sign that the waitlist->acceptance happened so early.  They said they would review as spots materilized.  They also said that this would evaluations would start in June and this is half a month early.  Wishful thinking probably.

Not yet.  When did you get the letter?  Where are you?  You staying on?

I got it yesterday. At first I thought it was a rejection (smaller envelope), but once I held it in my hand I knew it was something MUCH more sinister...another reply mail postcard for the "reserve list."

I live in LA so...I'm really kind of surprised that I got it before anyone else here.

I got the "second reserve" letter also. I'm done. I'm withdrawing.
