well today was supposed to be the day... looks like that's not going to happen 

I remember long time back when I called someone gave me a June 15th date, but then she kind of murmured and trailed off with a "or a few weeks after..."

No...nothing yet..nada...but I think anything new will probably be via regular mail and not email. (A lil psychological shield I gave myself so as to stop checking my email endlessly especially since I sit in front of the comp 9 hours a day)

Same here.  But I feel like if it is good news it will be in an email, not so good by mail.

yeah logically, it would be an email or even a phone call. Think of it from the adcom's perspective, you want to fill those seats and you want to fill them as soon as possible and for people to commit as soon as possible.

Snail mail would not be the ideal option as much as I try to convince myself otherwise.

so i just called cornell...they said that they're running behind schedule and that we'll find out next week or the week after "IF POSSIBLE." dickheads

Well, not cool at all.  But, (and being the obnoxious silver lining person here) if they were going to reject all of us there would be no need to review any applications at all so they could tell us now.  The fact that it will be another couple of weeks means that there is at least one spot left...and a glimmer of hope for all of us...

to add to that, if we stopped bothering them they could get things done faster

but yeah, I was hoping to have some sort of definitive answer to give the parents this Sunday. Instead of the--"I dont know yet."

so to ask the question again, would not sending a loci be a kiss of death to the adcom?

would fedex-ing one now do anything at all?

initally i thought it would be hopeless to wait on them especially since my numbers are on the low side but i've suddenly been hit with hope and longing.
