If someone objects during a wedding

I posted this a whiles back, didn't get much response. I am genuinely curious. During a wedding, when the question comes up, "Does anyone object to this marriage" and somebody DOES object, what happens?!

as long as it doesn't happen to me...

but still, I don't know what would really happen, I'd probably stand there dumbfounded.

I think there are procedures you follow in these cases, like dunking the head of the objector in a septic tank until he recants.

I was at a wedding once where this occured.  Her brother objected and caused a big scene.  Some guys ended up hauling him off... the bride (his sister) started balling, but they finished up the ceremony a few minutes later.  I guess the brother just didn't like the groom for some reason.

My dad's a reverend and he told me that the trend is to leave that part out of the wedding. But one time he was doing a wedding and the groom had it worked out that when my dad asked that question, someone from the crowd stood up, objected and then they dueled. Of course the groom won.
