Did Grey's Anatomy Jump the Shark Last Night?

Not the biggest fan, but I watch it 'cause my SO loves it. She was all excited for a 2 hour special that was just "too much to fit into one hour" and turned out to be a shorter than average episode piggybacked onto a shameless attempt to establish a spinoff show.

Thoughts?

I felt manipulated and taken advantage of. I feel like I should be allowed to choose what new shows I watch - not be forced to stomach terrible new pilots so I don't miss clips of a show I like.

I enjoyed the spinoff, but I'm not sure it'll work in the long run.  Then again, Melrose Place was on for 8 seasons...but that was in a different category of crazy.  Maybe I just liked it because I'm a sucker for Tim Daly.  YUM!  And WTF about the whole Meredith and Derek thing?!?!  Seriously, I was annoyed at the lack of attention paid to them.  She says this isn't the time to give up on me and he just goes OK.  Riiiight.  Totally believable.  And the whole Izzy and George thing is really grating on my nerves.  Ugh.
