Are Asians an URM?

Hi, I happen to be an Asian (Korean) who was born in South Korea but came over here at a young age. 
For admissions, are Asians even considered an URM?  I know being of certain ethnicity can help you in admissions, but will being Asian help or hurt?

The short answer to your question is no. However, thats no to say they wouldn't consider it (if even a little bit), but basically hispanics, blacks and native-Americans are the only ones to actually get 'points' for being a URM.

Underrepresented Minority (URM) Definition

The AAMC definition of "underrepresented minority (URM)" consists of:

Blacks (African-Americans),
Mexican Americans,

So non-Mexican/Puerto Rican Hispanics and Black non-African American people are not considered underrepresented minorities?  The AAMC is really weird.
