Also, and I cannot confirm this, but this is supposedly the alleged shooter's profile on MySpace:

Agenda for the day:
Check MySpace
Pack Ammo
Shoot People

 ???
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be the One.
Born to bear and bring to all, the details of our ending.
To write it down for all the world to see.
But I forgot my pen.

I think I'm going to be sick.

My dad is a surgeon in a nearby town, and if we were not in the Phillipines this week, he would certainly be there. I love that regiong and have had many good times in Blacksburg and it makes me sick to think of the good people cut down today. I wish it were all a lie.

RIP to the people killed by this tragedy.... :'(

At times like this I wonder - is it really necessary to legalize gun possession?

One of his friends on the MySpace profile:

I'm not challenging the reports, but I think it is unlikely that a single gunman was able to execute 32 people with two 9mm's. It's certainly possible, but I expected some type of assault weapon when I read about this.

While you won't get the same level of raw violence, it's just as easy to do something on this order with a propane tank.  :(

Oh my God. According to CNN, classes were not cancelled because the police had "some reason to believe the shooter had left campus." That's the most terrifying answer I could have expected.

From CNN

"Asked why the campus, which has more than 26,000 students, was not shut down after the first shooting, Flinchum responded that police received information that "it was an isolated event to that building and the decision was made not to cancel classes at that time."

You don't cancel classes after someone gets shot?!  An isolated incident???  What a bunch of garbage.

Insane.  Most of my friends attend Tech, and I've been talking to them all afternoon.  CRAZY.  :'(
