ok i have another question b.c I'm coming straight from undergrad, and my undergrad is completely isolated so i have no real world experience....

when they say a 2 br in regents is 1450 is that 725 per roommate or 1450 each?

thanks for the help with the bus thing! ok, so what i cant quite figure out... since the bus only seems to run until 8 pm, does that mean after that you're screwed?

can any current students comment on my other questions re: cars?

I posted this thread for MTG to notice, so hopefully he'll come down here with a few answers to these questions.

Here are a couple of my own for current students (or whoever knows the answer):

How does the internet/cable work at Regents? I mean, I’m pretty sure its DSL for free in terms of internet access, but what about cable TV?

Any opinions on cell phone coverage in the city? What about in Regents itself? I’ve survived the last 4 years on just a cell phone, and I’d hate to get a landline.

btw, when is everyone here considering moving to Chicago? I'm currently penciling in September 1st... but I'm not sure why I chose that date.

I was told that utilities are not included with the rent.

Yeah, I also said I was flexible.

On the Admitted students forum under finding a roommate, someone said that its 100/month for utilities.

The Regents people mentioned average costs for 1BR and 2BR utilities, but the figures aren't coming to mind right now. I'm sure they'd tell you if you emailed.

For some reason I'm remembering around $60 a month for a 1BR, but I can imagine that changing a lot depending on the season.

Maybe I'm doing my calculations wrong but it seems like living in Regents with a roommate is about the same price as living in New Grad or an Undergraduate housing apt...that seems amazing to me as it is supposed to be so nice. I wish i had gotten a chance to look at housing while I was there. Doing this all from a computer is tough.

I have no idea where I'll be living, as I'm not planning on living in Regents (or New Grad or whatever).  I called a rental agent and will probably be flying to Chicago for a week or so sometime in early July to find the perfect place.

I'm kind of weird, though.  I have a lot of heavy furniture, I have cats, and I no desire to move for three years!

I just realized that, aside from a TV, computer, one coffee table, and a bookcase... I'm basically restocking my life furniture wise. Going to make the first week or so in the city pretty painful. Need to buy a bed, sofa, desk, lamps, etc.
