How do we determine what is "moral" and what is "immoral"?
« on: April 14, 2007, 06:53:04 PM »
okay people, i actually want your thoughts on this subject.  how do we figure out what's moral or immoral?  example, some people think that homosexuality is immoral.  others thing that homophobia is immoral.  on what are people basing these?  is there some test that you use?  some line of reasoning?  or do you just believe what you believe?  ANSWER ME DAMMIT!!!

This is wrong.

"Do onto others..." works pretty well for me.

I first thought this thread said "How do we determine who is "mortal" and whta is "immortal"? That would have been a good topic. This one sucks.

Does this require anything else to work?

I'm not sure.  Let's talk about it.

I'm not sure.  Let's talk about it.

What if I like to randomly beat people up and I don't mind if people try beat me up because I'm big and tough and I can take it?

Evenhandedness would require that you only beat them up to the same extent that you would be injured were someone beating you up.
