Catholic Univ. or Howard Law?
« on: September 15, 2004, 07:57:31 PM »
Has anyone heard anything about their programs?  I am 32, white, ugpa 2.94 in English/Writing, LSAT in October (scores have been around 150-155).  Have worked at a big law firm in DC as a Trademark Paralegal for 2yrs, prior to that United Airlines for five.

Obviously, I am not even bothering to apply at GW or GULC.  I am still trying George Mason, as that is my first choice.  I'd be going part time.

one of my friends is a 2L at Catholic.  He loves it, but that's all I know.

howard is obviously the superior school.

Wactell, Lipton, Rosen, and Katz only interview at 5 schools:

Harvard
Yale
NYU
Columbia
Howard

If you want to get a good paying job, graduate at the top of the class at Howard

White students are definitely the minority at Howard.  It is primarily African-American and Asian.  This, however, intrigues me.  I think it would be interesting to be white and be the minority for once.  I think it is a good school.  The only problem is they don't have a part-time program which sucks.  Catholic does.

That's a pretty narrow list.  ::)

They are missing out on a lot of other good schools.

Catholic has a great Communications Law Institute that is well known in the DC area at least.  So I guess what kind of law you want to practice would play a role too.
