Texas Admissions Packet
« on: April 09, 2007, 09:23:38 PM »
So I got the UT letter on saturday, but it was just the letter and an intent form.  Do they send any other materials later, such as a viewbook or something?  I would think they would send something that says "hey look at us, you should come here cause we're awesome"

Nope. I didn't receive anything else.

That sucks.  I love shiny pieces of paper that attempt to sway my decision.

somewhere I read that all they mail you is
1. letter of intent form
2. any merit scholarship awards
3. something in june to formally commit you (if you send in the april 15 deposit)

all other info is on freshlaw.
they do have a viewbook that you can download as a pdf, but that's it.

texas doesn't seem to be so into the whole recruiting thing.

Isn't just being The University of Texas enough? It's God's gift to education. Remember...God blessed Texas...

It's the Harvard of the People's Republic of Texas...so just be happy that you didn't get rejected. No recruiting is necessary.

I've received three letters from UT after being accepted in February.  Their materials suck.

my thoughts on ut law thus far:

1. their law school admit materials are pathetic;
2. their staff, especially in financial aid, is a joke; and
3. their ASW was ill-planned and entirely unimpressive.

Have you received a financial aid offer yet?  I haven't heard anything from them, which I think is ridiculous.  When is their seat deposit deadline?

no f-ing financial aid package and their seat deposit deadline is april 15th!

i went to the admissions office in person during the ASW and asked for an extension (and mentioned the lack of financial aid package as one of the reasons for the extension), and they said they weren't granting extensions to ANYONE for ANY REASON.

yeah, play hardball, ut.  and watch me as i go boalt next fall. ::)
