Anybody got off the WL at American
« on: April 09, 2007, 06:01:29 PM »
Has anybody gotten off the waitlist at WCL? I've been accepted at Temple and Seton Hall but I'd prefer to go to American.

BTW, possibly important: I applied for the dual JD/MA in International Affairs. I got accepted to the American School of International Service but waitlisted at WCL. If I mention this in a LOCI will this have a significant effect?
Happy colored marbles that are rolling in my head
I put 'em back in the jacket of the one I love
Carry that velvet sack full of pretty colored marbles
And I'll ask you for 'em back, when I'm ready and done

I think the first seat deopsits were due like last week, I wonder if they're going to start taking people off of the list soon.  I doubt I have much of a chance since the wait list seems to be about a million people strong, but either way it's nice to have hope.  :)

Yes. Also, it probably would not hurt to call or send an email to that effect.

just out of curiosity, did you choose to remain on both the "part time or full time" waitlist or did you say just full time? I have heard conflicting things about contacting the admission office. If  you really want to go there, and are certain, by all means tell them.

I've noticed on LSN that some people have recieved a letter from American saying they were rejected after being on the waitlist. Has anyone recieved this letter? Does this means they've filled their class? Any insite would be good.

From what it looks like American is rejecting the people with lower numbers on the waiting list. Does anyone know if the letter they sent indicated that their class was full though?

Well, even if the class is "full" that doesn't mean the waitlist is over in done with.  Just like y'all, some people who are going to American are on waitlists at other schools [prob some like GW, GMU, MD] and if they get off their waitlists spots will open up.
