Does anyone have any insight on Ohio State? It's one of the highest ranked schools I got into...but I'm worried that by going there I'll pretty much be forced to take a job in Ohio (I'm from D.C.). Does Ohio State have good placement rates elsewhere in the country?

I assume this very late message comes too late to be of any help for you.... But, the answer is definitely yes, OSU Moritz College of Law graduates find jobs all over the country (and we have one who will be clerking for the United States Supreme Court beginning in the fall).

Professor Dressler:
Welcome to the board. You're "Understanding Criminal Law" book was a great resource to me first year. Thanks for the clarity.

Thanks. I just discovered this site.
And, of course, thanks for the kind words about UCL.

As you mentioned being from DC, I would like to let you know about the awesome DC program that was started this summer by Professor Peter Swire. Professor Swire worked in the White House under Clinton and currently lives in DC (teaches at OSU in the fall only), so he has tons of contacts. This summer students are interning at OMB, Dept of Homeland Security, Ways & Means Committee, and many more places in DC. In addition to these great internships, Professor Swire teaches a regulatory theory and policy class over the summer as well as a seminar that accompanies the internship. It is a great program and is just one of the many examples of how committed OSU law professors are to creating opportunities for students. From what I've heard from students at other schools, the OSU professors are accessible, dedicated, and of course exceptionally qualified on a level that is rare.

People interested in discussing Moritz College of Law (OSU), may contact me at

. Obviously, I have a conflict of interest, but will be as candid as possible.
