Researching salaries.

Where's a good place to research smaller firm salaries?  I'm talking small and lower mid-size firms, and other avenues not related to Mid/BigLaw.

Projected average annual starting salaries for first-year law associates at small firms (up to 10 attorneys) range from $46,500 to $70,000, according to a 2007 report from Robert Half International Inc., a staffing firm based in Menlo Park, Calif. Individuals at small/midsize firms (10 to 35 attorneys) are projected to earn average annual starting salaries ranging from $53,750 to $78,750. At midsize firms (35 to 75 attorneys), they are expected to range from $68,250 to $95,750, and at large firms (more than 75 attorneys), they're from $99,000 to $129,000.

Thanks, Jorge.  I've read similar stuff.  I'm looking for something a little more detailed, though.  Not too much, but an idea of billable hours, working conditions, and school-to-firm placements would also be useful.

This is not going to help you that much, but it suggests that quality of working conditions and happiness are inversely related to the sizes of the firm.
