I'm sure this has been discussed before, so I apologize to those who read it again...

But how is on-campus housing for grad students?  I have read that most law students commute, but that does not appeal to me for my first year.

on campus housing is off campus i believe.  not a good area but there are hired private security that patrol the area.  all in all, its safe.  you can probably commute by bus without any inconvenience.

if you want to go to usc then just do it.  worry about living there when the time comes.  there are plenty of places to live around campus and def plenty of places which are commutable.
