i'm thinking about just buying a duplex within 15 minutes of the law school parking garage and just renting the other side out.  found an older one on the east side of white rock lake.

Sorry dude, I really did look for apartments for you, but found nothing that would satisfy your needs.  I think THE VILLAGE is the beast deal close to campus, but I suspect it wouldn't be big enough for your puppy and pool table. 

The duplex seems like a good idea.

Consider it less thinking about going to OU over SMU and more just reserving a rush to judgment. I've been mentally prepared for OU, so I needed some time to brood over the new circumstances.

After letting it sink in, however, I think you're absolutely right. SMU feels more and more like a no-brainer.

I'd choose SMU no question.. Dallas isn't New York or LA but it's alot better than Oklahoma.  Plus SMU is higher ranked and you'll have great opportunities at Dallas jobs with Dallas salaries - unless you want to stay in OK and know it, SMU does seem like a no-brainer.  The minor increase in student loans are greatly offset by the greater earning potential.  IMO, anyway.

Ha, I do too. I was saying it is a great thing that Dallas is not NYC or LA--I would never live in NYC or LA but would love to live in Dallas.
