Me too...even if UT doesn't place as well into BIGLAW as other places...living in Austin would not be a bad way to start off your career :)

Plus theres always free food at UT's Law school, just yesterday they had free schlotsky's and amy's ice cream, and on tuesday they had something else. Not a bad way to spend the next three years :)

I chose UT over a full ride to SMU because of two simple reasons:
1. its UT, and perception wise in this state, it is far and away the best law school in the state.
2. I like Austin, and am from Austin.  And my fiance is from Austin.

I do really like SMU though  :)

I assume you mean that UT doesn't place as well in BigLaw compared to the T-14? Because in Texas, UT is tops for BigLaw (this is not to say that SMU doesn't do well in Dallas BigLaw or U of H doesn't do well for Houston BigLaw, but UT does well in BigLaw across the state.

..::yawn::..

Well, it's the end of another week... and still nothing.

Surely we will hear something next week, right?

I'm finding it difficult to remain optimistic. According to LSN, most SMU applicants who received a decision this late in the cycle last year were WL'd or rejected. :-\

Most movement will come as a result of the April 1st deposits. Note also that today was the last ASW, so there might be a couple of people who either decides to come or not. I think letters and phone calls will be made next week depending on what these admitted students decide.

This cycle does seem different on a lot of levels than last cycle though.  I've still got my hopes up.

For what its worth...I have basically autoadmit numbers and still have not heard...

I have heard from a few friends that SMU has called them up and offered a full scholarship despite mediocre numbers...ie 164, 3.2...desperation??

My numbers are higher than theirs and I have better soft factors, so maybe it is the plague of applying late (if early december can be considered late...)
