Submit apps before LORs sent?
« on: September 14, 2004, 07:03:05 PM »
Can I submit my applications to schools before all my LORs are sent in and processed, or is that a bad call?

It seems like it would be nearly impossible to try to time them to arrive at the same time, so I think it's actually better for apps to arrive first than for letters to arrive first.  Not that it makes a difference either way, but it seems better to get an app without an LOR than an LOR without an app.  But either way doesn't make a difference really from what I've read, because they start a file for you as soon as they receive something.

I'm definitely going to be submitting my app before the LORs are processed.  I'm determined to meet my Oct 1 deadline!

Are you talking about the common app?  I left mine blank, and I have yet to see a LS app that asks for that.  I was about ready to call my HS counselor.

Yeah I was talking about the common form. But you haven't run across a requirement for HS GPA? That's a good sign I guess. I was just bent on getting that thing filled in completely before sumbiting it because I guess if you want to make changes you have to do it manually in every app.
