Waitlisted at WUSTL

Just admitted at WUSTL off the waitlist. I most likely will not go, since I got $$ from SLU and will be staying in the St. Louis area, but it's something I'm going to have to consider. They want to know by Monday though!

Wow, congrats... looks like I need to send in an LOCI now since theyve started pulling files.

also in off the waitlist!  i sent my LOCI last night, got in less than 24 hours later with 22,000$ a year in scholarship.  a nice surprise!  i'm booking a flight this week to go and visit.  good luck to the rest of you!

One of my recommenders, who works at WUSTL, called them to check on my status, so that may have been a contributing factor.

just an fyi, for what it's worth: i actually visited washu last week to express my interest in the school, and spoke with an admissions counselor. part of our conversation was about how the waitlist worked. the key piece of information that she passed on to me is that they are currently looking for people at the high end of the gpa range (i guess to balance out their gpa percentile). just wanted to pass on the information.

I know this thread has been dead for a while but...

I called the admissions office today and spoke with an assistant director of admissions. I was told that they are looking for students to actively express their continued interest in WUSTL, and it seemed as though that was a very important factor for being taken off the waitlist anytime soon.

They must have liked my effort because I was told that my file was being given to the adcomm on Monday and that I should expect a nice email at the beginning of next week. I'm was also given some contact information for an alum in my area.
