I have to go on my "2 weeks during the summer" deployment, so the Crim Law class is out which sucks because I would have really enjoyed the "easing" into LS with 1 less class in fall, but oh well.  At least they're sending me some place cool this year.

Anyone local want to go grab a beer, coffee, etc. while I'm in Seattle?  I know one person there who works all day, thus I'll be exploring the city alone during the daytime.  I'll buy the first round...

I'm going to Spring Visit Day.  I'm also taking the Crim Law class this summer.  I'm stoked!

On a more serious note, are you guys worried about job prospects after graduation?  I know this concern is a bit premature, but I've been reading a few of the depressing blogs written by T2 and T3 graduates who have had a hell of a time getting full-time jobs.  Some of these blogs are seriously a buzzkill, but I can't stop reading them.

However, most of these bloggers are in the glutted NYC area, so I do not know how pertinent it is to Seattle.  However, we do have to compete with UW, so...

Any thoughts?

I'm in Seattle (ok, the 'burbs), so I'd be down for doing for drinks whenever someone is in town to visit.

As for the job prospects, there are a ton of open jobs in the Seattle area for attorneys. I think it boils down to what you want to do... if you have your heart set on biglaw, you need to be in the top of your class at SU. Other options really open it up a lot more.

From what I hear about biglaw in Seattle, it's limited to top of the class like euphrasie said.  But, the small to midsized boutique firms in Seattle offer nice salaries, very realistic billable hours quotas, and a large range of specialties.

Would I get strange looks if I showed up for my tour of the law school dressed like this with some cowboy boots?
