I have no idea what all those terms mean, but however it happens I would love to be a part of a 1L group blog, I think its a really cool idea.

Just wanted to say a quick welcome to all of you who have dropped off deposits. Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet some of you over the next couple of years.

Those are just a few of the many publishing platforms we might want to use.

I mentioned wordpress because I'm familiar with it.  But if someone with more expertise thinks moveable type or typepad is better, then I'm perfectly happy to use that instead.

I'm only a part time computer nerd.  ^_^  I'm hoping someone else will have more expertise.  I can however, set up a wordpress page and photoshop a simple banner graphic.

Cool. I'm a quasi-nerd as well. I'd like to see your banner.

I think we should make a few determinations before taking action. First, do we want a single blog to which n number of people post/administrate (e.g., Crescat Sententia)? Or would the bloggers-to-be be happier with their own individual blogs linked together in a webring of sorts? Second, if we go group, we've got to name the blog something muthafuckin' tight. If we decide upon individual blogs, then naming is of course up to each person, although we could collaborate on this, too.

As far as the publishing platform is concerned, I doubt WP is as tweakable as MT, but that doesn't bother me too much, since WP is open source and, well, I love open source. But here's something else we might want to consider: http://blawgcoop.com/

I'd contribute if it were a single blog.  Individual blogs may get too confusing.  It would be easier if prospective and current students just had one thing to look at.  Sort of like eagleionline but exclusively 1L related.

I agree on it being a single blog.

I'll try to whip up some kind of banner this evening.

Let's do it. What do we want to call it? How many contributors will be allowed?

I'd say unlimited contributions.  If theres too many posts, I think thats a good problem to have.  The more content the better.

As for titles, I'm a fan of latin.  ^_^  Wikipedia has a rather impressive latin phrase list:

How about ab absurdo?
