Dear Penn,

Don't you want to accept the 34th most-popular Law School applicant (according to LSN)??? I know I would...

Love,

The Captain

So far, nothing. I'm sure I'll get my skinny envelope next week.

Does this 4/1 promise thing apply just to deferrals?

I don't have any inside info on this, but I would imagine that this 4/1 "promise" does indeed only apply to early applicants who were deferred, since it was in the letter of deferral that the "promise" was made.

I would have thought that it would also apply to regular applicants - it just sounded like 4/1 was the goal that they had set for themselves for all decisions. It sounds like they just had too much, and I suppose it's nice to know that they're not just running through these applications but instead taking the time to really evaluate all the applicants even if it takes a little longer than they had anticipated.

i was deferred in december also, and i called penn yesterday.  she said they "got bogged down in applications" and that i would hear "by the end of this week...or early next week."  i would assume that this goes for all deferred applicants, but she didn't specifically say that...
