Was this email universal, or was it only targeted at certain portions of the pendings/defers/holds/whatever-other-categories-lawschools-invent? e.g. only sent to those who have been waiting longer than x, or those who applied after date y, etc.

I'm guessing it was universal, until we hear otherwise ... is anyone pending with Yale who DID NOT get an email with an attached pdf FAQ?

Got it too . . . very strange. Mine came with the PDF as well. Any thoughts?

The e-mail seemed pretty universal to me.  Guess we'll have to see if any pending applicants didn't receive it.  Good to know I'm  still in the running and that my rejection hadn't actually been lost in the mail back in February, though :D.

I'm assuming it's along the lines of, "We're going to deny you, but NOT YET. Because we do what we want. Muhaha."

I also got the email. I've only been complete since mid-February.

HTH whoever is trying to decipher the meaning of this.

Did Yale send emails like this in past years?

Since no one has actually mentioned the content of this "Yale E-mail," I can only speculate: is this the "you're either going to be waitlisted or accepted" email? If so, yes, they have sent these out in past years.

Dear Newtothis,

We know that you are anxiously awaiting a decision on your application to Yale Law School.  Because each application is carefully reviewed by up to four readers, you may hear from us later than many other law schools.  You should receive a final decision within the next month.  In the meantime, please find attached some questions frequently asked of us by applicants who are waiting for decisions.

Thank you again for your application to Yale Law School, and best of luck.

EDIT: Just to help those trying to figure our whether or not this email was "universal," I applied near the deadline and went complete in late February and do not have stats that make me likely to be admitted.

EDIT 2: Sorry, I didn't notice that someone had already posted it.
