I was highly unimpressed with the Columbia fee waiver:

1.  Not specifically addressed
2.  Looks poorly copied
3.  Stodgy wording
4.  "We look forward to our review of your candidacy for admission to Columbia" is the most congenial they get...
5.  No signature.

That said, I'm of course still applying anyway.

I was highly unimpressed with the Columbia fee waiver...

I am always highly impressed when someone saves me $70.

Do merit-based fee waivers make y'all think any less of the schools giving them?

I also received one today and since I was intending to apply anyway the fee waiver is appreciated.
I never did get one from Michigan though.

Got one, but likely not applying.  Redneck in NY City = BAD

I wasn't planning to apply to Columbia, but w/ the fee waiver I will - but I'm still applying to MIchigan and paying full cost as well.  :-[
