If no one budges, this could cause massive WL gridlock...
I assume that this year there are more WL decisions than ever. With so many WL's, hardly anyone will commit to a school unless they got into their top choice... if they didn't get into their top choice, they will probably not withdraw from their WL's... and schools can't offer more seats of admission until people withdraw... it causes a sweet catch-22.
So yea, I have a feeling that this year a huge backup in decision times could result... the only thing to help this from happening are seat deposits, and even those are expendable to most people if it means them possibly getting into a better school.
Basically it causes most schools' hands to be tied until HYS are done making decisions. Once this happens the rest of the T14 will get some withdraw letters, and then gradually it will free up adcomms all over to offer more seats.
