Come on... give the guy a break.  Anyone would be pretty upset if this happened to them, myself included, especially if it were a school you were excited about.

Why didn't you call them in between getting the email and waiting a month?

The same thing happened to me - and I was eventually rejected as well. That school is dumb. A money pit, and their bar passage rate has apparently decreased in the past couple of years.

I say they were doing you a favor in rejecting you.

You might have gone. And then they would have charged you 150k for some toilet paper.

Wow, that is completely retarded! What a bunch of BS.

I'm not exactly impressed with Hofstra either. I was accepted and they sent me a letter requesting a seat deposit. The post-date on the letter was AFTER the due date. You're right, this school's a joke. I hope you get in somewhere better!!

Oh, I have. More prestigous and better bar rates. You would think after screwing with the minds of thousands of applicants, they would have just waitlisted us all. Horrible applicant experience, right behind Univeristy of Michigan undergraduate!

That's ridiculous.

Why should they have wait listed all of us?

Even the people with the 147's, 148's, 149's and below who would have stood no chance getting in in the first place?

The same thing happened to me, I was bummed out, but I took the initiative and demanded they let me know the status of my application.

It was also kind of inferred what the outcome was going to be, since I could not log into that site.

You can't expect a law school to wait list every single person in their application pool, even if they have poor numbers, because they made a mistake.

The only thing that really, really, really irks me is that they did not retract the letter until three days later - in the middle of the afternoon.

But, thats all I wanted from them - a retraction.

I would rather get into a school on my own merit, not over some stupid technicality.

no offense, by the way.
