The fact of the matter is, she made these comments at major conservative political forum and received standing ovation.

Context is important, yes. What I meant is that Mr. Warrior is trying to dictate the terms of the debate to essentially change the subject. He wants to change the argument to one about people, their jobs, their intentions, etc when none of that really matters. What Coulter said would be equally offensive if uttered by Colbert or Stewart in reference to, say, male private part Cheney's daughter.

Do you know what the NAACP is and who attends? or how bout the DNC?  we can name acronyms until the cows come home, and every one corresponds with a well-known, well-attended group from all over the political spectrum, and guess what, almost all of them have applauded something offensive.  People applaud, call it groupthink, call it sheepish, when someone is in front of a microphone, people applaud.  People even applauded Michael Richards' rant at first, its just human nature.  Its no real commentary, other than, they were making the "entertainment" (coulter) feel welcome.  And your belittling "do you even know" tone really is not needed.  A large part of my law school credentials is the fact that I have worked for prominant Republicans, and never has anyone from the Governor, down to the guy who gets the coffee for the mailroom worker EVER expressed any hateful biggotry condoning the use of the word "faggot" or otherwise.  You are looking for a wave of bigoted sentinment in the Republican party that simply is not there.

Point taken, but at the same time realize what im saying, homophobia is not the only "absurd word view."  Its not like all liberals are ivy league intellectuals and all Republicans are trailor trash mullet heads.  The NAACP wont applaud someone using the word faggot, (except Sharpton, and Jackson both have a distate for homosexuality), but they may applaud something equally intolerant.  I do not think homophobia is propogated by people like Coulter because people stupid enough to be really homophobic arent people who have ever of Ann Coulter.
