If you're such a fun loving guy then why are you on two different threads defending the sh*t out of Cooley.

I got my score earlier...lemme see... yeah about a year ago.  :P

I just feel bad about anyone or anything getting the sh*t kicked out of it when it's already down.  And I don't really think I'm defending it -- just stating the objective facts.  It's a low-ranked school with a weak reputation, and for most, it's the school of last resort.  But for some it's at least a last resort, and some people need that.  Some people even succeed from it.  I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with better options, but for those who really want to be lawyers, period, and have no biglaw illusions, I wouldn't dissuade them, as long as their eyes are open.  (It is in fact important to recognize the high attrition rates, and poor placement.)  Again, the two Cooley grads I met are more successful than most biglaw attorneys, and have far more control over their own lives. They're clearly not the norm, but they do exist, along with other less spectacular successes.

And if you already have your score, you have no reason to be grouchy.   :-*

My sentiments, exactly

Don't get me wrong.  I advise against going to any law school not in the t14 and Cooley is certainly a TTT, but you know what the mark of an insecure person is?

Perhaps posting about your superiority on message boards...

Sorry, I was referring to the judge, not you.  That being said, I had also confused him with someone else.

Can't we all get along?

Coincidentally, I just got off the phone with a friend who was supposed to take the June LSAT but postponed. He told me the school he's trying for is called Cooley (I bit my tongue!) and he needed a 163 because they give everyone with that LSAT and above a full tuition scholarship. It was so strange hearing Cooley referred to as someone's dream school when everything I've heard about it has been negative (though in all fairness everything I've heard about it has also come from LSD). Is this scholarship he's referring to what people are referring to as ridiculously hard to maintain? I don't want to burst his bubble but I'm wondering if I should mention some of the things i've heard about Cooley.

Cooley is the most difficult law school in the country.  Its cutthroat as hell, and they weed people out and take their scholarship money, as well as kick them out of school if they arent in the top X%

You've got to sit through a video, but it's worth the pay off for a Cooley jingle...8)

Oh GAWD! I had to go through that THREE times until I was finally able to record the jingle. The first two times, my dad came in at the very end and asked me to help him with something. Each time!

This is going to be my new ring-tone. I'm also showing up to ASW next year with my Cooley-gear! Only, I hope it's not going to be at Cooley.

Also, I liked that one student's (ahem) boldly-unique name."Ebonee Avery". hehehe.

I feel I've been infected, somehow.

For whatever the reason, the lower the schools is ranked, the more exacting the curve.
Here at Illinois, it's a 3.2/3.3 curve. At most T3/T4s, it's in the 2.7 range. I don't really get it, esp. when you only need 3.25 to graduate "cum laude" from here. Honors for the top 50% of the class? Honestly?

our curve at ualr is a 2.70.  3.25 for honors, 3.50 for high honors.

i would be happy to just have them fling my jd at me from a moving car

Rev - i could just be sleep deprived but that made me LOL...because I TOTALLY understand!

all this curve and honors talk and i'm thinking - yeah, they could email me a p'point as proof of graduation.
