Question to fellow Boalt WL people:

On the letter we got, it says something like "The waiting list will be ranked by May 11. There is nothing you can do to affect your ranking on the list."

So does this mean we shouldn't try sending LOCI's and extra LOR right now? Is there really nothing we can do? 

Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

Did anyone here recieve an email confirmation from Boalt about making past some sort of first round selection?  I recieved this notice, and was told I would recieve an answer by March 26th.  A friend told me that this was some sort of unofficial waitlist for people not on the official waitlist while Boalt is waiting to hear from their first choice applicants likely to choose other schools (i.e. applicants with a 4.0 and 170+ who have to choose between NYU, Penn and Boalt, rough life).  Any inside knowledge or advice? thx.

it sounds like you received the "passed initial review" email, which is more of a deferral than a waitlist. you can skim this thread:

Boalt hasn't released its rankings yet for its waitlist this year. Waitlisted applicants are supposed to call after May 11th for more information.

do deadlines and dates mean nothing to these people? i've been waiting with bated breath for 5-11-07 so i can call/email! i set a gmail calendar reminder!

it's going to take a lot for them to earn back my trust. heh.

aww how cute. yeah they are strange. i called with a different question and the woman pretty much offered up the information. Random. Anyway, wonder if they'll be using their WL this year...
