I did search for a Heroes thread, but both of them were about very specific issues and were old. So here's a better one. (Because who doesn't love a poll?)

Ok, so let's discuss your question more. I'll admit that I've only been watching Heroes religiously for the past month and a half. I don't remember Hiro at any point telling Kaito about his powers. Did I miss something?

He sort of does when his Dad comes to get him and bring him back to run the company.  Hiro says that he has to stay in America to fulfill his destiny.
Here's how it went for me for Fall 2006 admission:

Right, I remember that. With Hiro's clear absorption in his game boy from last night's episode, I wonder if Kaito dismisses it more as Hiro living in a fantasy world as opposed to his actually being "one of them.".

Well, I could be remembering it wrong but I thought he did blabber on about having a special mission, etc.

If his dad is that involved with whatever special group or agency Mr. Benet works for I would think he would already know about Hiro. Hiro has, afterall, met with some key players who the agency/group already knows have abilities. I think his dad knows, but I wonder why he's pretending he doesn't.

Also, I'm wondering who the Haitian is working with.

Perhaps it's important that they're Japanese, since the stereotype there is family honor, and having a mutant son would bring disgrace (although if he knows about Hiro, why would he want him to be the face of his company?).

As for the Haitian, I thought he was working with invisible guy (who as I understood it had been hiding Claire at some point)?

that's a real shame, jer.

Maybe he was trying to protect Hiro by asking him to come back to Japan?

I'm not convinced that the invisible guy knows that the Haitian is good, but he might. Invisible guy's been trying to live off the grid and I got the impression no one except Peter has seen him in years. But you could be right because he was protecting some other person in that flashback; so he could be a more selfless guy than he's seemed in recent episodes.

The Haitian thought he was protecting Claire from her own father; he thought Mr. Bennet might turn Claire in. He didn't erase Claire's mind when she was attacked by Sylar, but Mr. Bennet had told him to. Mr. Bennet has actually known for a while about Claire's abilities, but he didn't turn her in. (Until last night I don't think we were aware he was supposed to).

the characters are interesting to me; the show is called "Heroes" but many of the people who have developed special abilities are not heroes. some characters try to be heroic but fall short; some characters are fairly villainous.

it's one of those shows where there are some mysteries and puzzles to figure out; everything that is happening is probably connected but how it is connected has not been revealed.
