Has anyone else read Brush with the Law?  I'm about 3/4 of the way through and I've found it to be pretty enjoyable, if only in an amusing way.

Yeah, I really enjoyed that book.  Doesn't it make Stanford sound like a cakewalk?  The guy at Harvard seemed to do a lot more work and just hit casinos on the weekend.

David Brooks, columnist for the NY Times defines lawyers as people who didn't realize that they wanted to be novelists until their student loan burdens were already too heavy.

Hahaha.  Which one was the crack addict?  I'd read every chapter when it was posted on the website.  NEver brought the book.

The Stanford guy was... I think he was only going to one class because that was the only one he had that took attendance or something like that.  All he ever did was ride is bicycle and smoke crack.

I know that they got a few emails/letters from H and S alums telling them to get lost and not to soil the school's good name.  I really think that book just shows that the top schools are not any more difficult and might be really easy if you just want to get by.

I don't think they were typical of the aveeage person, in that both of them were bright and smart.  I think the one from HLS graduated top of his class in HS, and got waitlisted into getting into HLS.

Instead of using thier brains to achieve greatness, they choose to goof off and have fun while finishing up law school.  I can somewhat relate to what they have gone through, while I was in undergrad.  I was mostly unmotivated, bored to hell, but much brighter than most of the students in my classes.  I didn't care much about my grades or I would have similar experience to them.  Goofing off and maintaining above average grades.
