Can you still get into a large Manhattan law firm if you go to Buffalo???

they have a pretty good amount of employment stats on their website.  not names of firms but some numbers that show only a small number of grads ... maybe 10%-20% going to NYC.  I know it is the NY State law school but it is pretty far away from NY and there are so many closer schools.  I would doubt if more than one or two NY firms OCI there.  Access will probably be better in regional markets like Cleveland, Pittsburgh and the Upstate cities.

Actually, Buffalo places a quarter of its class in NYC, and they have a pretty solid pipeline there. Personally, I think this myth of schools=opportunities is bunch of hooey. Does it help? Yes. But YOU create your own opportunities. Buying into the elite schools=elite jobs thing seems like instituional laziness to me. And based on what I;ve read about how hellish BigLaw '34 Act-whore life can be, who the hell would want that other other than a status hungry 23-year-old?
