Well I have plenty of problems with the way this war has been conducted. A good majority of the reasons the insurgancy has sustained itself in my opinion, is that the way we fight in Iraq is geared towards appeasing those who no matter what, would critisize this president. I am not a die hard Bush guy, but there is a greater fight going on in Iraq. And that is against radical Islam. America would have had to confront this problem in some arena at some point even if 9/11 hadn't happened. Do you honestly think that if we had never invaded Iraq and just solved the Afghanistan problem that all these threats would have went away? They would'nt have.

Going to war with Iraq was a noble endeavor. Regardless of why we went in, we liberated the county and brought freedom to those people. Now, the nation as a whole has NOT embraced the concept of freedom, there are many people in Iraq who still live in huts, no electricity. You can lead a horse to water but can't force it to drink it.

In my opinion, Iran was a more severe threat to national security than Iraq. After the Gulf War, the Iraqi military was pretty much desimated as a standing army. The war with radical Islam will continue long after most of the "soon to be lawyers" on this site pay off their loans. I wouldn't say that lives have been wasted in Iraq, I think if we pack up and left today one could ask, "what the hell did we fight for?" We will never achieve a total victory in Iraq or any of these nations. They have essentially sucked at life since biblical times and who are we to think we can change that. I would also attribute the fact that there have been no attacks from any radical Islamist groups on American soil to the intel and combat ops being conducted in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as across the world.

Fighting in Iraq ABSOLUTELY equals fighting for your freedom, if it doesn't I wish I could send you over there in full gear during 130 degree heat in July and tell me that I am doing it for big oil or W. You need to re-evaluate where your freedom is derived from, and where it has derived from since the revelotionary war. Because of the bravery of the few, the many enjoy freedom. Period.

As they say, "If you can read, thank a teacher. If you can read in English, thank a Marine."

The war in Iraq was not about radical islam in the beginning. When Saddam was in charge Iraq was one of the most secular states in the region. If the war is about radical islam now, its our fault, because we created the power vacuum that gave radical islamists the opportunity to march into Iraq and recruit there.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Truth.

to continue, while iran is to a significant degree a theocracy, there's no connection between iran and al-qaeda, and in fact the shia iranian leadership has been quite hostile to the sunnis of al-qaeda, and there's little to no al-qaeda recruitment in iran. contrast this with U.S. clients egypt, saudi arabia and jordan, where al-qaeda is most popular.

iran has not been initiated any military aggression in centuries, though it has been victimized, first by the shah, a totalitarian mass murderer who overthrew the parliamentary democracy in 1953, with the support of the CIA, and whose 25-year reign of terror had the full backing of the U.S., then by iraq, which was rewarded with closer diplomatic ties to the US and chemical weapons. iran funds hizballah, a shia lebanese resistance/political opposition group which in addition to legitimate political and military activities, has engaged in some retaliatory violence against civilians.

iran is nominally democratic. however, real power is vested in the clerics, and the president is not much more than a figurehead. it is repressive toward women, labor unions, and other groups, though not nearly as much as U.S. allies in the arab middle east, and the oppression there falls far short of israel's practices toward palestinians. iran, unlike the united states and israel, complied with treaties regarding nuclear technologies
until 2003, when the U.S. insisted on arbitrary new standards for iran. there is no evidence that iran has been developing weapons technology, although faced as it is with threats from two leading nuclear terrorist nations, it would be insane not to be doing so.

Everone is a tough guy on the internet. I would like to see that Credo-Pirana make my head into a ashtray himself, three deployments to Iraq and no Arab has done it so far! He would have better luck though from his mom's basement I'm sure!

All the responses to my last post are from anti-war far left socialists. Impeach Bush NOW! War is bad! Save the Earth! Your truck is bad! Make trade fair! Business is sooo bad! I love my organic starbucks!

At the end of the day you still don't matter. Attack me personally? Real American hero on the net? Haha thats funny. I wonder if most of the people on the law school discussion are still in college? Probably. Therefore probably still living at home saving the world one   recycled can at a time! Thats securing the country! People like some of you are the ones reportedly spitting at Marines in Santa Clara, I wish one of you tough guys that want my head crushed would spit at me. Maybe when I get back to college in the fall it will happen! I can only wish!

Oh and we should have went to war with radical Islam in the Clinton years, but becuase of liberal pacifists like some of you we just took attack after attack through the 90's. Thank God for Bush! Who cares if he's wrong,(which he's not) at least were kicking some ass!

Haha again! Most of you geeks have south park icons! Grow up and grow a pair! Put down the comics man! Credo pirada and his THOR icon, you guys are silly! I hope your all called to active duty service soon! I am liking this site more and more!

And on a serious note, radical Islamists had been attacking the US for sometime, it just took someone with a pair to respond and defend the country. Not like I would expect many people on this site to do that.

Some of you guys need get educated, no president since Ford! Just because you may be in college or graduated from some school does not make you smart, and some of you are obviously not smart. Put down the Japanese anime man, turn on O'Reilly or something. Go get a beer! Go to a bar! A strip club! Talk to a girl other than your mom! There is more to life than WARCRAFT or your PS3, PSP or your 360!

So to finish this really uneccesary rant, some of you who are expierencing voice changes or starting to like girls should really look to channel some of that new testosterone and aggresion, maybe Job Corps is for you! Yea!

SEMPER FI!

Go on with your bad self, you f-cking tool.

Does hiding behind a tank and an automatic weapon make you feel tough? Did your balls increase in size when you entered the Corps? Is your d*ck bigger than a civilian's now?

How does it feel to know that your country is being overrun by homos and illegals and ragheads and asians and brownskinned people and granola eating hippie electric car driving liberals?

How does it feel to know that women don't stay in the kitchen and cook your food and do your laundry and lick your a$$hole and are taking your jobs and your sexual power? Does it make you want to go lift more weights, bash some more nerds, slap a female dog, shoot an Arab?

How does it feel to know that right now people are burning flags and pissing on your 2nd Amendment rights and taking GOD and JESUS out of the schools and throwing them in the dumpster?

How does it feel that people are telling your president to go to Hell because he's among the most insane fundamentalist terrorist out there? How does it feel that you and those like you are finally in the minority?

Are you scared now, or just pissed? Are you able to formulate any thoughts or emotions beside that arrogant, hubrisitic macho act you're putting on, or will the Corps let you think?

How does it feel that while I'm typing this I'm stroking the crotch of my boyfriend, while he's playing with my a$$hole? How does it feel that we're thinking of you when we do it, in your camo, sitting on your tank (ooh, how phallic!), sweaty, muscle bound? How does it feel to know that you make me hard?

I'll let you come slap me around, tough guy? You can drive your Hummer over here and I'll give you a hummer right back.

How does it feel that over 75 percent of this country thinks that this war is ridiculous, that right now Congress is passing a bill opposing the "surge" (oh how sexual that term is)? How does it feel that the Cheney's and O'Reilly's and Wolfowitz's of this world are on their dying breath?

I still bet you're too chicken-sh!t coward to look an Iraqi in the eye and to tell them that you still think that what you're doing is right.

are you trying to be a caricature or is it accidental?

and for the record, the arabs aren't so great at fighting so the fact that none of them have managed to kill you over the course of three deployments doesn't say a whole lot.

also, it's not just the far-left socialists who think the war has been an unmitigated disaster.  though they certainly do a good job making the war opposition look silly at times.
[/quote]

Caricature? Yea OK! How would you know if they're good at fighting? And how is the war a disaster? Because Shia and Sunni blow eachother up daily? Is that our falt? If they were civil people they wouldn't have many of the problems they have today. If we weren't fighting one group or another daily we would have plenty of troops to help build infrastructure and improve their lives. The left is silly, and is currently making the country as a whole look silly to the world in the Congress, thankfully the Senate upholded some honor!

And most of American casualties are caused by IED's not direct fighting. They're cowards over there, thats why when you catch them they pee themselves and say how "Bush is good, we love Bush!" They are good at pressing a button. Iran has been supporting teror, Lebanon is a good example. Hizbollah has killed many Americans, and Syria has a hand in Iraqi instability just as Iran. I wish we could just let them screw up their own world and leave but that wouldn't be responsible. Oh well.

People -- dahova is not George Bush. Don't unload everything on him. thx.

Of course not. I've made that exception for him earlier; he didn't take it. Since then he's managed to do just well telling us how he views the world.

see if you can change his mind or have him show some flex.  it's more challenging and more fun that way.

That's your game. I'm a little more crass.

Well it is good to see that Last Light has been watching fox news and studied CNN.com in detail to form a textbook opinion of the world. Good Job I would give you an A- if I were your professor.

Thanks Meji, someone has some common sense! First off, I don't care if people are gay. I am not sexist, woman can do what they want. So don't label me some hick "macho man." I am educated, I think for myself, thanks!

I'm all for burning flags, its freedom, no? Giving hummers, hey as long as your pitcher and not a catcher right? Haha sorry, that was just funny though. I am all for freedom of speech, expression, whatever. Immagration is out of control, no one denies that I think, and arab immagration, well they have their own region of the world to @#!* up!

But other than that your flat out wrong in your diagnoses of me. It doesn't turn me on that I turn you on, really. I find you amusing though, that's for sure! And women have been out of the home long before I was born amigo! Go women!

75% are not opposed to the war and if they are great! They can vote in 08' but untill then non-binding resolutions will have to do! Instead of fixing social security, border regs, medicare, costs of higher education they are debating meaningless resolutions. If they oppose the war, cut off the funding! That's what they can do, but they won't.

And I am glad your stroking your bf, thats awesome man! Make sure ya lube it up!

Also, I have done my laundry since I was like 10, women screw it up. If you want it done right ya gotta do it yourself.

I also disagree that the Wolfiwitz's and O'Reilly's are a dying breed. O'Reilly is #1 in cable news, hell he beats most shows on network tv nightly! Dying breed, well maybe. Most men in this country are not men, or manly I suppose. But hey, second ammendment hell go for it if it get's ya off brother!

Oh and I diddn't join the Marines to feel big, I was already not a puss, I diddn't need someone to tell me it! Hide behind tanks, automatic weapons, no don't do that either.

And what's wrong with being arrogant?

Oh and make sure you use protection, wouldn't want you to get a burning sensation or growth on your pooper!
