Pre-law advisor leaving...

Pre-law advisor leaving...
« on: February 09, 2007, 11:07:13 AM »
I went to see the pre-law advisor at my school a few times before (once a year). Apparently now he's leaving...he'll stay on til the end of the semester and then they will split his duties among several deans.

I'll be working on apps this summer and applying in the fall... is this bad news for me or is it not going to matter much?

only if he was an outstanding prelaw advisor. Many or most prelaw advisors aren't much help beyond being another sounding board for Personal Statements, and even then LSD has seen some examples of really bad advice from some of them.

yeah the official prelaw advisor at my school doesn't even have a jd

even if you wanted him/her to write an LOR it doesn't matter if they leave, they still know you...

I've never met my prelaw advisor. In the words of another poster several months ago, "LSD is my pre law advisor"

Dean P.A. is leaving???? Word???  Why???

Honestly tho, I didn't even really use his help.  If it were up to him, I wouldn't have even applied to the schools I did nor would i have gotten into MIch and UVa.

You have LSD now so you will be fine!
