"90% or greater chance that human actions are influencing the climate."  http://www.ipcc.ch/

"The small print explains “very likely” as meaning that the experts who made the judgment felt 90% sure about it. Older readers may recall a press conference at Harwell in 1958 when Sir John Cockcroft, Britain’s top nuclear physicist, said he was 90% certain that his lads had achieved controlled nuclear fusion. It turned out that he was wrong. More positively, a 10% uncertainty in any theory is a wide open breach for any latterday Galileo or Einstein to storm through with a better idea."

Then wouldn't it be so much better to try out all of those scientists' ideas so that you could prove them wrong?  Science really shines when it shifts paradigms.
Let me show you Derelicte. It is a fashion, a way of life inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique.

They're break-dance fighting.

90% certainty in the scientific community, especially in environmental science, is pretty effing certain.  i.e. it's a fact, dummy.

It sure isn't certain enough to sacrifice what quite a few are hellbent on seeing through.

In other words, you're not trained in science.  Good to know.

Exactly. I hate science because I refuse to assume that a discipline based in large part on the continual scrapping and renewal of ideas is unconditionally correct in a given area.

Science works

It most certainly does not (at least in the way you imply). It's not gospel and it has never, nor should it ever claim to be. It is necessarily imperfect by design.

And it still works.

That's more of a mantra (science works) than a workable thought, but what exactly do you mean?

This may be the hardest you've ever dershowitzed.  Impressive.

You're going to have to define that bit of vocabulary for me.
