I just happen to believe in every human's potential to succeed; I don't see how that's overly optimistic.

There's nothing wrong with potential; it's just unreasonable to extrapolate from potential to certain outcome.

How to Get Into UConn:
by: A Villanova Fan

1) Write an essay about how you are, in fact pure evil. 2) Send this to UConn.
3) Wait four weeks.
4) Enjoy your acceptance (and buy a lock for your laptop).

umass22, I speak for many of us when I say how delighted I would be to have you as a classmate.

- Someone has to set the curve.

umass - don't let these nay-sayers discourage you. Obviously you are a highly desirable applicant. (That is what it means when schools accept you quickly!) You will probably get in everywhere you apply and be a member of the Supreme Court. I'm rootin' for ya'!

wow.  ???

I don't know, she strikes me as honestly encouraging, but maybe she was a bit over the top. Hell, I'd be shocked if anyone posting here eventually got to the SC. The odds against are simply overwhelming. But I do think she's being nice.

yea, it sounds a little over the top haha. I'd like to consider myself a highly desirable candidate for the places i at least applied to, but obviously i doubt i am. The ONLY thing that changed me from expecting a rejection from all these places, was the 2 week acceptance from Miami. So hopefully whatever Miami liked about me, the rest will as well?  ;D

Aren't you a Pats fan, or something stupid like that? Will you convert to a Fins fan? We have nowhere to go but up, you know.

no way! Im not a poser like that lol.  I will however become a fan of the hurricanes though, i was never a fan of umass sports because they kind of suck at everything, but i would definately convert to a canes fan if go there.

Probably no from UofA. A buddy of mine applied with a 157 and a 3.6 and got rejected even though he was a URM.

haha, i see you got accepted to Miami? Are you considering it at all? And what were your numbers if you don't mind me asking?

Here are the LSAC profiles..Take a look. You have a shot, albeit not a fantastic one. Good luck!

and hey just for kicks, UCLA accepted someone with an LSAT between 150-154 and GPA between 2.75-2.99 - according to the LSAC data :)...I wonder what their soft factors were

They're not stellar, so we'll see if any other schools bite. Meanwhile, I am considering it. I haven't been overly impressed by the facilities, but I like the alumni and students I have met. And let's face it, no matter how pretty the facilities may or may not be, law school is going to suck if you're at Yale, Cooley or anywhere in between. Good luck. I hope you get what you want. If we both end up at the same school, I will totally bully you for your milk money. Ok, just kidding. I'm actually super nice in real life. Online, I have a rep to protect.  ;)

Overall, just chill. You'll be so much happier.

thanks! What ive noticed though, is the LSAC 25th/75th percentile is very different than the school's websites? With Florida for example, their website says their 25th percent is 155, while the LSAC says its like a 157 or 158?  Which one should i go by?
