Waitlisted @ American

here ya go guys...i emailed american this weekend letting them know i would not be attending their school. Itd be cool if i could say, "give my admission to one of the following people on LSD" but they might prefer their students to be sober

Waitlisted as well.

Disapointed, given as I really wanted to get in.  But at least it's not rejection.  I'm not giving my hopes up just yet.

I was waitlisted as well. I was anticipating that though. At least I was not outright rejected. One of my friends is a 1L there right now and I plan on visiting, writing a letter of intent, contacting them every month and I have an additional letter of rec adding to my file. I am still waiting on other decisions, so this actually might not occur, depending.

But did anyone else notice on the form from American it said if you really feel compelled you can send a letter of continued interest but to refrain from sending them additional materials (not those exact words but you get the point).  It sounded like they didn't want any more paper.

I was waitlisted there...

But American is too expensive to really fret over, so I'm taking myself off consideration.  Good luck to you other guys looking to get in.

I also got the waitlist letter and I am considering attending becuase my good friend is a 1L there and she LOVES it! I was also deferred at SMU, but if I am admitted there then I will pull off American's waitlist. I will be sending in another letter of Rec and at least 2 letters of intent. I will bother them as much as possible and allowable. Thats what my friend says is needed to show interest so they dont wait their time accepting people off the waitlist to fill spots.

In my waitlst packet it said I could contact my counselor noe more than once every 3-4 weeks. I emailed them once and asked if I could send some additional materials and I would suggest that, for the sake of walking a fine line, you do the same.
