« on: January 18, 2007, 11:39:26 AM »
my parents are first generation immigrants from lebanon.. they came in the 70's fleeing the war...
I observe hijab, or modest covering, most notable with my head scarf.

would adcomms treat me as a URM?

Hmmm....I disagree. I would indicate that you are of Lebanese descent. URM is not limited to strict sub-categories...diversity is wide-ranging. I'm sure Muslims and Lebanese Americans probably are under-represented in American law schools.

Technically you are counted as Caucasian, but you should indicate your Lebanese descent on your application.

Also, you may want to include a diversity statement that elaborates on your religious/cultural identity (and of course how that would contribute to diversity at the law school to which you are applying).
