Yes, Fulton.  But then I was wandering around the WTC and ended up by Battery Park.

Oh! I think you just got out at the wrong end of that mammoth station. It's very long from east to west.  That's such a creepy area to walk around at night.  I am glad you made it back in one piece!

I was also glad to make it back in one piece.  Getting lost (not to mention in creepy places alone at night) is a recurring theme.  I am sticking with cabs next time.

eta:  Yes, I confirmed later that I did just get out at the wrong end of the station.  But I at least made it under the river and across?

eta 2:  And it has only taken me four months to admit it!

A real gentlelady would have escorted you home.  Egg on my face.
That's cool how you referenced a case.

This is wrong.

I am not accused of being an invader in my current neighborhood!  That's probably because of the sheer number of young professionals in the neighborhood.

Then I don't understand the reference? Where would you be accused of being an invader, except in the gentrifying sense (and if in that sense, as much in the Mission as anywhere, right?).

I am frequently confused with those who live in the Marina based on my chosen apparel.   :-\

;)

(all tongue in cheek, etc.)

I still don't get it in the slightest. The Mission is much snobbier about people who seem yuppie (or marina-esque, as you seem to be having it) than your current neighborhood, or almost any other I can think of. Why would the Mission be less likely to treat you as an invader?

I do not like hats.
I do not like them on bats.
I would not like them near cats.
I would not like them made out of mats.

No, no, no.  I felt badly enough about showing up almost an hour late for dinner.  I would have walked before I let you do that.  Plus it was one of those things I will never forget (and infinitely less intimidating than that time I got lost and then sat in the hotel bar and wrote postcards because I was so unhappy with my traveling companion).

And I'm so glad you did!

I love it too.  I hope I can stay here.

On that note, I think I ought to try to get to sleep.  It's late.  Good night, loves.

Ferris Bueller is one of my all-time favorite movies, but Breakfast Club was really serious business when I was in middle school.  Sixteen Candles is also pretty good in its own way.  Pretty In Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful (really the boy and girl versions of the same movie) were merely good for young teenagers at the time and grew old very fast.  The Pretty In Pink soundtrack was fairly important, though, as these things go.

Jesus, yes.  Also Duckie. That's not a name, it's a major appliance!

My momma is Hughes's age.  Sad.

But how do you deal with someone who rejects your broad moral principles?
I kill them.
