I finally went to the eye doctor. I totally did not know that this would cause my pupils to be dilated for several hours. I can't really see what I'm typing here. Thank goodness for firefox spell checker?

I picked out cute glasses, I think ,but I won't get them for another ten days. Boo! But bangs + glssses in one week might = accidental hipster goalie.

Also, does the dilation really bother you?  Never did for me.

What's your prescription? 

It's the first time I've had an eye exam since I was in high school, but yes, the dilation means I seriously can't read. It's a little better now, but I tried to read a text on my phone, or the price tag on some frames, and I couldn't make them out. Which kind of freaks me out.

And my prescription is not very strong, apparently. -.25 and -.5? Something like that?

Also, this nice young police officer got into the elevator with me, and I said "Wow, good person to get stuck in the elevator with!" Which I *immediately* realized probably sounded like I was flirting with him, and was all embarrassed, but it was actually just the first thing that popped into my mind. I'm always scared of getting stuck in elevators, and sizing up the other passengers for how useful they would be in a crisis. So, you know, I thought he would be pretty good, since he was a campus police officer. Then I felt awkward, though.

And the dilation should just affect brightness, not focus, not?  Did they give you the little temporary shade thing for your eyes?

They did give me the temporary shade. And I don't really know what they did, but she told me I wouldn't really be able to read for a while, and it appears that she was right.
