And is it acceptable usage?

My thought process, followed by my answer:

1. Silence is good.

2. Eliminating unnecessary words increases silence, and therefore good.

3. Everyone will understand "I've never been!" to mean "I've never been there!" given the context of the exchange.

4. "There" is an unnecessary word in the sentence "I've never been there".

5. Eliminating the word "there" increases silence, and therefore good.

So yes.

I'm just curious because it's something I've noticed creep into the language over the last year.  Now I hear it pretty much every day.
I hate science because I refuse to assume that a discipline based in large part on the continual scrapping and renewal of ideas is unconditionally correct in a given area.

Let me show you Derelicte. It is a fashion, a way of life inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique.

They're break-dance fighting.

Why is "there" an unnecessary word?  I don't like your faulty assumption in point 3.
J, if you didn't bring enough penis for everyone, you shouldn't have brought any penis at all.
